How to Clean and Maintain a Cigarette Injector
Many problems with cigarette injectors are caused by tobacco residue building up in the chamber and mechanism. Regular cleaning takes only a few minutes, helps prevent jams and can significantly extend the life of the machine. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for your specific model as well. After each use - about 1 minute
- empty the hopper and remove loose tobacco from the chamber,
- use the supplied brush to clean the chamber and the tobacco path leading to the tube nozzle,
- remove small pieces cut off by the blade, as these can contribute to jams.
The Powermatic 5+ includes an additional chamber-cleaning function after each cycle, but a quick manual clean at the end of use is still beneficial.
Thorough cleaning - every few weeks
- switch the machine off and disconnect it from the power supply,
- open the accessible areas and use the brush or supplied cleaning rod to clean the chamber, blade and mechanism guide,
- remove stubborn dry residue with a soft, dry cloth,
- inspect the tube nozzle or tongue and any rubber parts for signs of wear.
What not to do
- do not use water, alcohol or solvents unless the manufacturer's instructions for your model explicitly allow them,
- if the mechanism jams, do not use excessive force - remove the tobacco first and check what is blocking the movement,
- never clean or disassemble an electric injector while it is connected to the mains.
Signs that a replacement part may be needed
With long-term use, the blade, tube nozzle, rubber components or, on some models, the motor can wear out. The following signs may indicate wear:
- ragged cuts or torn tubes - inspect the blade,
- the tube no longer stays firmly on the nozzle - inspect the tongue, holder or rubber component,
- the machine loses power or stops frequently - after thorough cleaning, it may be worth checking the motor or drive assembly.
We keep all replacement parts in stock and dispatch them the same business day. If you are unsure which part you need, contact us through the contact form and include the injector model and a short description of the problem.
